Welcome to Polaris

The launch of Polaris is a transformational university-wide project designed to support student success. What’s in a name? Polaris is also known as the North Star – a key wayfinding tool over the centuries. Polaris will help students, faculty and staff navigate UTD with ease.

Polaris will be the first place new and current students should go to access many university resources, including new functionality and services. Polaris will also provide an automatic connection to Orion for academic records, financial aid and tuition/fees.

Polaris connects students, faculty and staff to tools that support student success. Students can review and complete tasks assigned by their success team and find recommendations to keep them engaged on campus.

Students will be connected to faculty and staff that are part of their success team and will have the ability to manage their appointments and plan follow up as needed.

New Channels to Communicate

Polaris integrates communication tools—like Marketing Cloud and text messaging—to send timely, relevant reminders and messages to students.

360° Student View for Advisors & Staff

View everything in one place: academic progress, support notes, holds, referrals, advising history, and key milestones—all accessible through one personalized dashboard.
